  • August 2009 VA Enterprise Software Testing

    In August 2009, ABSi was awarded the VA Enterprise Software Testing contract as a subcontractor to PSi.  Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information & Technology (OIT)/Office of Enterprise Development (OED), Software Engineering Office, Testing Service

     

    ABSi is a key subcontractor to Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI) in providing support services to the VA Testing Service in the areas of Capacity Planning Analysis and Independent Verification and Validation (functional testing, performance testing, system integration testing and operational readiness review):

     

    Capacity Planning Analysis Support

    • Identify and implement state-of-the-art tools and methodologies to facilitate the capture of present capacity metrics and performance data as VistA systems are modernized to incorporate new industry standard technologies and processes.
    • Assess systems and applications scalability and performance.
    • Review and analyze network and application metrics collected from capacity planning tools.

     Independent Validation and Verification (IVV) Support

    • Provide Independent Work Product Review and Critical Analysis Risk Assessment (CARA) evaluations for Development Project teams Project Management Plan in the VA's Propath process. Identifying elevated risk in a Risk Based Testing environment.
    • Perform requirements analysis;  develop test plan, test cases and test scripts; execute test; analyze and report results.
    • Perform feature and function testing as well as performance testing; integrate the application under test into the test environment and analyze how the application under test interacts with other components in the system architecture.

  • August 2009 State of Maryland CATS-II Master contract IDIQ Enterprise Software Testing

    In August 2009 ABSi Corporation was awarded the State of Maryland CATS-II Master contract IDIQ Enterprise Software Testing contract as a prime contractor. 

     

    Consulting and Technical Services (CATS) II

    The objective of CATS II is to enable the State government to procure IT consulting and technical services in a timely and economical manner. Through CATS II, the State will have a flexible means of obtaining information technology (IT) resources quickly, efficiently and cost effectively by issuing task orders specific to its needs.

    ABSi hosted a series of educational webinars in June, designed for companies who are considering virtualization or have recently installed a virtualized environment. ABSi presented information on a number of IBM technologies and products that can improve and accelerate the realization of benefits of a virtualized environment.

     

    Two of our valued technology partners contributed to the success of the series. Guest presenter, Matthew Weaver, Worldwide Program Marketing Manager for IBM Systems and Technology Group presented “Creating and Simplifying a Virtual Environment with BladeCenters”. Guest presenter, Tony Owens, Senior Solutions Architect with Arrow IBM Group, presented “Simplifying Storage Management through Virtualization”. Al Miller, Vice President of ABSi’s Commercial Systems Unit, moderated the series and fielded questions from the audience in Question and Answers that follow each presentation.

  • July 2008 HUD HITS Contract

    In July 2008, ABSi Corporation was awarded the HUD HITS Contract as a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin. ABSi holds the Information Technology Service contract supporting the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a partner with the Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC).  As a by-product of HUD’s key role in the housing industry, HUD maintains an intricate relationship with all aspects of the financial industry.  The HUD IT environment encompasses financial data, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and judicial data as a normal course of its core business process.  The HUD OCIO plays an instrumental role in financial data acquisition, transfer, processing and protection for the vast institutions representing the mortgage holders in the United States - currently insuring over 4.8 million mortgages.  It is this environment in which ABSi plays a key role in satisfying HUD’s need for quality Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and IT Security services.

     

    The LMC HUD Information Technology Service (HITS) Program is a large-scale, multi-site operations and maintenance support contract that both operates and supports data center and regional/field offices nationwide.  The project involves operations and maintenance of large-scale systems and multi-tiered platform architectures across all of the HUD functional business areas.  ABSi supports the entire scope of the HUD HITS program which includes the areas of project management, network operations, HUD mail system support services, database management, SAN operations, distributed systems operations, configuration management, desktop support, backup operations to include COOP/Disaster Recovery operations, and security operations.
