Joseph Carlin

President & General Counsel, Alqimi Group

Mr. Carlin is currently the acting President for the Alqimi Group and also serves as the organization's General Counsel.

As the President, Mr. Carlin oversees the day-to-day execution of the organization's business goals and strategies. He also has oversight for the accounting and finance group, including oversight for the Company's banking relationships, financial reporting and budgeting, and strategic financial planning. Each of the organization's divisional heads currently reports to Mr. Carlin and he in turn reports directly to the CEO.

In 2007, Mr. Carlin joined the Company as Executive Vice President for Corporate Development (as well as General Counsel). Mr. Carlin still maintains his Corporate Development responsibilities consisting of developing and executing on Alqimi's strategic growth initiatives together with Mr. Sharma. This includes investments in new technologies and business lines, the establishment of international subsidiaries and operations, the formation and management of strategic alliances, partnerships and joint ventures and the company's acquisition program.

As General Counsel, Mr. Carlin is responsible for managing Alqimi’s legal matters and its outside counsel. Mr. Carlin has had a long history with Alqimi as he acted as the company’s outside general counsel for approximately 8 years prior to joining the company in February 2007.

While in private law practice, Mr. Carlin was an equity partner in the corporate and securities practices at the law firms Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP of Philadelphia and Gardner Carton & Douglas LLP of Chicago and was a corporate and securities attorney with the Washington, DC law firm Arnold & Porter LLP. At these firms, Mr. Carlin handled a wide range of complex and sophisticated corporate, transactional and finance matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions (equity and debt, public and private, VC and PE), large syndicated loan facilities, complex corporate restructurings, project development and finance and domestic and international joint ventures and strategic alliances.

Mr. Carlin holds a B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. He is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia bars.
